Malta Holidays
The sunny islands of Republic of Malta, Malta and Gozo, are a popular year-round destination for tourists from all around the world. The wonderful climate, which in 2007 was selected as the best climate in the world by International Living, welcomes tourists 365 days a year. Maltas’ position in the Mediterranean, just south of Sicily and north of the coast of Africa, makes it one of the most attractive destinations among travellers. It has a history which spans for over 7000 years, and has seen conquests by the Phoenicians, Byzantines, Arabs, Romans, and most famously, the Knights of the Order of St. John, resulting in a island full of fascinating traditions, cultures, architecture and cuisine.
Due to its permanent contact with different civilizations and cultures, the cuisine of Malta is a delightful, mouth-watering experience. Travellers get to enjoy the traditional Maltese food, which has Sicilian and Moorish influences. There are also traces of French, British, Spanish, Arabic and Italian cooking in Maltese cuisine.
